Principal and teachers of ACS,
You, to this school, your time devoted,
To you, this poem is dedicated.
Throughout the years of your teaching,
Good morals too you have been preaching.
Hoping the bad ones will slowly turn,
Once seeing the greatness of your concern.
You have all been trained,
Your temper to constrain.
Know that, though the class be noisy,
Eventually they’ll settle down nicely.
Discipline is self-control, you have taught,
That many might not to wrongs, resort.
Honesty is the best policy had also been stressed,
This has helped many in their progress.
Scolding the troublemakers is always a help,
Though also knowing how they felt.
But it is your duty to give,
Punishments to those who do mischief.
Teaching can be discouraging,
When tests’ results are worst than anything.
When the pupils try their best in everything.
Besides teaching there is also correction,
Of exercises in which there is no perfection.
At times you may begin to wonder,
The boys - can they progress any further?
Numerous boys you must have met,
Rich or poor, you taught them the same facts.
You have brought and advised the rich,
To mingle with those whose parents’ ‘mine’ are not so deep.
The clever and industrious students,
You moulded them to become future statesmen,
The duller ones you urged to exhibit,
An improvement, bit by bit.
